Oreo cookie lab
Oreo Cookie lab
Brandon,Pentucket High school
Lab conducted September,12 2013
Students measured the filling in three types of Oreo cookies to determine if filling amounts matched advertising. What we did in this lab was we measured the mass of Oreo cookies cream filling. Once me and my partners put the cream filling on the scale we were testing too see if the cream filling was really twice the amount of the original amount. The results that me and my partners got was the original stuffed cookie was 3.4 grams and the double stuffed cookie was 7.4 grams. Once me and my group got too the mega stuffed cookie we were already convinced that the advertisement was true, and the mega stuffed cookie ended up being 10.65 grams so the advertisement was true.

Density and measuring
Over this week we did alot of things that taught me how to do specific things in the lab. One thing that we did this week was we had to measure the mass and find the volume of a gummy bear. After we found the mass and volume of the gummy bear we were assigned to put the gummy bear into a glass of water so that the next day we could see if it had dissolved. i found that to be very interesting and also it taught me how to find that mass and the density of small objects.
Another thing that we did this week was the do nows that we were assigned every day before class. The do nows helped me figure out the mass, density, and the volume. If it werent for the do nows that we have been doing all this week i dont think i would be able to figure out what to do in the lab when i was trying to measure the gummy bear and find the mass for the bowling ball.
